Youth Retreats

 

Each February, Carnival happens in Haiti. This festival is similar to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Drinking in the streets, drug use, and the practice of voodoo are all parts of Carnival. Strong-armed robberies, assaults, and pick-pocketing have also become the norm during Carnival.

 

Spirit of Truth offers an alternative to Carnival each February in the form of a youth retreat. This retreat is open to the youth from each of the Spirit of Truth churches and takes place the same week as Carnival.

 

Games, bible study, fellowship and plenty of good foods are all part of the yearly youth retreat. More than 100 students attend the conference each February.
